Slow Start

As I expected it was a flurry at the end but a slow start to the new year for us. Our SS was still on holidays last week. Nobody on site until Friday the 13th, lucky for us the Brickies came back to finish off.

Some badly chipped bricks replaced on the front column

Bricks under the windows all completed

bricks under the alfresco door, work on the corner joint

Front piers now the right height

Corner Joint by alfresco door

Before Repair - Cleaned
wasn't happy with the spacing of the joints at the top

After Repair - uncleaned

It seams that there are 2 ways to do this type of corner joint, I am not sure if this is done for a reason? but to me it just looks messy to begin with even when done right, I much prefer the joint below

House in Glenmore Ridge

I have been looking closely at houses in Glenmore Ridge on our Saturday morning walks, and I don't seam to be able to find a pattern as to when each of the joints are used, I did find one house with both though.
The problem I have is that as we go from the Alfresco area back into the kitchen this will be the joint most people will see.
